Moonfox started cosplaying when she was 13 years old and at the time she began she described herself as “an awkward kid.” Throughout high school, she was constantly bullied about her weight and was called fat, ugly, and other comments. The harassment motivated her to take up an intense weight loss program, and she ended up losing 20 kg in 6 months.
Moonfox started uploading pictures of her cosplaying various characters and grew a substantial following. As of March 2019, she had over 834,000 followers on Instagram, 195,000 followers on Twitter, and 700 patrons on Patreon.
